Avoid multiple independent initiatives so as to avoid redundancy, incompatibilities and competing visions. While you might naturally concentrate on better planning and production, also think beyond internal processes to the wider value chain.
Consider procurement, production, logistics and sales to improve areas through use of monitoring, maintenance, improved visibility and automation. Include details such as technologies, data management, human management, process, culture/learning and security. Split everything up into phases such as defining, proving and implementation.
