The Deloitte annual survey on business and government readiness for the fourth industrial revolution surveyed 2000 C-suite executives across 19 countries.
Businesses remain challenged to translate what’s possible into tangible business strategies. This is partly due organisations not having clearly defined decision making processes and not including a diverse and inclusive set of stakeholders. Industry 4.0 knowledge also tends to be concentrated in a few individuals or groups rather than widely distributed. Another problem is data silos that inhibit creativity, innovation, global vision and thwart strategies.
Those taking up new technologies incorrectly see it more as protection against competition rather than advancement to cause disruption.
